When your BCP is written, it is not finished.

  • Before it is adopted it must be tested to ensure it works.

  • After it is adopted and your staff trained, it must be tested to:

  • Ensure that the training is successful.

  • Improve individual and organizational performance, especially in coordination and communication.

  • Reveal weaknesses and gaps in the plan.

Owner Sunshine Lemme
LIE will develop five levels of exercises:
  • Orientation, a low stress discussion of the plans;

  • Drill, a deployed test of one aspect of the plans'

  • Tabletop Exercise, a role playing, sit down, and facilitated exercise designed for decision makers;

  • Functional Exercise is a simulated interactive exercise that tests the organizations response and focuses on the coordination of multiple functions and/or organizations. It does not include deployment of equipment.

  • Full Scale Exercise is simulated as close to reality as possible, involves all functions, and includes the deployment of equipment and personnel.
